Cochlear implants in Sri Lanka since 2004

The first cochlear implant surgery in Sri Lanka, performed in Colombo in 2004, with the Wickramarachchi audiology team in the operating theatre
Sri Lanka's first cochlear implant surgery, Colombo, 2004. Our audiologists were in the theatre that day, and at more than 1,100 implant surgeries since.

We brought cochlear implant technology to Sri Lanka and facilitated the country's first implant surgery in 2004. Since then we have facilitated and supported more than 1,100 cochlear implant surgeries, and we built the audiology service that supports them. It means the team that programmes your implant has been doing this longer than anyone else in the country, and that we will still be here for the life of your implant.
