World class surgeons in Sri Lanka

We recommend several Sri Lankan cochlear implant surgeons. Each is experienced in cochlear implantation and has international training directly from Cochlear Ltd in Sydney, Australia. They operate at the best hospitals in the country, use Cochlear's SmartNav system during surgery, and are recommended by Wickramarachchi Hearing Care.

Extra safety with SmartNav

Our surgeons use Cochlear's SmartNav system during the operation. It is a tablet that shows the surgeon what is happening inside the inner ear while the surgery is still going on.

The Cochlear SmartNav screen on a tablet during surgery, showing the position of the electrode inside the cochlea
The SmartNav screen during surgery. It shows the surgeon how far the electrode has travelled inside the inner ear.
  • It shows how deep the electrode has gone, and how gently it is moving.
  • The surgeon can check the electrode is sitting in the right place before closing.
  • It can replace the X-ray that used to be taken during surgery, which means less time under anaesthetic and no radiation for your child.
  • If anything needs adjusting, it is put right there and then.

Choosing a surgeon

Our audiologists will discuss which surgeon and hospital suit your family best. We will coordinate everything before and after the surgery. Our surgeons also perform Osia bone conduction implant surgery.
